The presentation, How to conduct inspiring webinars for STEM classes in secondary schools: Experiences from EDU-ARCTIC program on the Arctic and polar research, was given during a session on Experiences in STEM education.

The presentation, given by the head of EDU-ARCTIC project, Agata Goździk, highlighted various aspects of conducting webinars. She talked about the advantages of webinars, as well as potential barriers and problems that may occur while proposing and conducting them. The results of a requirement analysis survey conducted among STEM teachers from secondary schools were also presented.

During the discussion, various initiatives (EDUSCIENCE, ERIS, Scientix) were also indicated as a useful sources of information. The presentation ended with a set of recommendations concerning the process of preparing the webinars, conducting a webinar and some technical aspects. The important topic within it was how the Arctic and polar research may be used as engaging topics for webinars aimed at schools. 

The EDU-ARCTIC project drew the attention of educational experts from Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Russia, Israel, Japan and Colombia. We are now proud to have a school from Bogota, Columbia on board, which has been actively participating from the very beginning (see our monitoring map).
